Longest Marriages: Secrets to a Happy Relationship

This April, Jeram & Ganga Ravji, New Zealand’s longest-married couple, will mark their 85th wedding anniversary, followed by their 104th and 105th birthdays in May and June respectively. This remarkable achievement is considered a world record for the longest-living couple, as recognized by international media coverage and the Guinness World Records. Family First NZ, who has been organizing the award since 2016, pays tribute to the couple’s enduring relationship.

In the United States, the longest-married couple celebrated their 83rd anniversary in 2018, while in Canada, the current longest-married couple celebrated their 80th anniversary back in 2016. John Henderson, aged 106, and Charlotte Curtis, aged 105, from Texas, hold the title of the oldest living married couple acknowledged by the Guinness Book of Records, reaching their 80th wedding anniversary mark.

Jeram & Ganga Ravji are set to receive recognition during this year’s National Marriage Week on Valentine’s Day. Despite declining requests for media interviews due to personal reasons, the couple continues to inspire and be celebrated.
